Creative Media Camp is designed for teenagers aged 13 to 17 who want to improve their language skills while exploring their creativity and developing practical filmmaking skills in the Swiss Alps. The programme combines 15 hours of language lessons per week with three creative media workshops conducted in English, offering the perfect balance between academic development, digital creativity and outdoor experiences. Participants learn how to develop story ideas, create engaging narratives, experiment with acting, film their own videos and edit their projects. Working in teams, they have the opportunity to produce their own short films or vertical videos, express their ideas creatively and develop valuable skills in storytelling, communication and audiovisual production. The programme encourages hands-on learning and gives participants the freedom to create original content in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Language classes are taught in small groups of approximately 6 students, allowing teachers to adapt lessons to individual needs and language levels. With courses suitable for levels ranging from beginner to proficient. Through interactive activities, games, role-playing, theatre, projects and audiovisual materials, students develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in an engaging learning environment. The creative media workshops are conducted in English, providing additional opportunities to practise communication skills while collaborating on filming projects. From brainstorming and script development to filming and editing, students learn to communicate their ideas effectively, work as part of a team and bring their creative visions to life. Participants are required to bring their own camera or smartphone with good photo quality.

The camp takes place in the picturesque mountain village of Liddes, in the Grand St. Bernard region of the Swiss Alps, in the canton of Valais. Participants stay in welcoming Alpine chalets with full-board accommodation, including three meals a day prepared by an on-site cook, as well as fruit and snacks. The programme includes three creative media workshops, two half-day excursions and one full-day excursion to explore the surrounding region, alongside evening entertainment such as campfires, games, karaoke and group activities. The week culminates in a final screening where participants present their creative projects and celebrate their achievements with the other campers. With 24-hour supervision, opportunities to meet young people from different backgrounds and a stunning Alpine setting, the friLingue Creative Media Camp offers an enriching summer experience combining language learning, filmmaking, creativity and international friendships.
